Just the other day while looking at a prospective clients keyword ranking, I was supprised to find how high his web site ranked for certain keywords despite the fact that the web site was not optimized and had very little content. How was that possible?

He had a couple of links from well established sites pointing to his web site. These links came from articles that were written about his business.

So how do you find out how many links you have pointing to your web site? Check out this tip of the month:

Search Engines figure that if you have a lot of inbound links, you probably have information that is interesting enough that other sites want to link to you. Here is how you can find out quickly who is linking to your web site:
Go to Yahoo.com or Google.com and type the following text in to the search field: link:www.YourSite.com.

You will see all the web site that are linking to you.
